Sougtani - Pinner

Image
Sougtani - Pinner Another Lebanese meal... What a surprise 🫢. This was my second time coming to Sougtani and it has definitely solidified its place in my roster of staple middle eastern restaurants. The restaurant has a floral theme and there is a beautiful floral display coming down from the ceiling right at the front of the restaurant. We ordered the mixed vegetarian mezze and added the spinach pastries, feta pastries, and extra falafels as a little top up to ensure the meal was filling for all 4 of us (3 properly hungry adults and 1 who was snacking on the bits that took his fancy).  This meal was actually divine! Properly lush 🤤🩷. The mixed mezze came with falafels, moutabel, hummus, fattoush, batata harara, and flatbread. These were all such gorgeous dishes! The crispy falafel was absolutely bursting with flavour but honestly it was all incredible! My only complaint is that the batata harara was slightly too spicy for me 🌶️ (though my spice tolerance is pretty lo...

Honest Burgers - London Bridge

Image
Honest Burgers - London Bridge  Okay, I'll be honest... on my first bite I did immediately jump to the conclusion that these were the best burgers I have ever had. Realistically, this was probably a bit of a reach and may have been the hunger talking 😶‍🌫️. However, with that being said this burger was a pretty solid dinner that I would be partial to ordering again.  I went with a friend and though there was a bit of a queue forming, we didn't have to wait too long for a table (about 15-20 minutes) and the staff were fairly efficient with seating everyone as quickly as possible.  We both ordered the corn fritter burgers with their rosemary salted fries as an accompaniment. These were a breath of fresh air in the world of vegetarian burgers and I really enjoyed how different they were. They were beautifully crispy and flavoursome - even once they had gone cold ❄️! Additionally, their rosemary salted fries were flavoured perfectly to ensure they left a nice taste in ...

E Pellici - Bethnal Green

Image
E Pellici - Bethnal Green This eastend cafe is a staple for many. It's been frequented by British celebrities, the Kray twins, and now me. And I think I can understand why so many people love to eat there!  My fiance has been there a few times already and has even bought some merch (!), so it's fair to say that he already LOVES the cafe. He recommended the pastas to me, but as I had heard Pellici's breakfast was voted the best in London, I was adamant on ordering the "Have the Lot Veggie". My veggie breakfast came with a sausage, fried egg, fried bread, grilled tomato, mushrooms, bubble and squeak, two hash browns, chips, and some beans (*... And breathe*) 🤯. A hell of a lot! The regular veggie breakfast came with all of the items bar the chips and hash browns. Since I hadn't had any breakfast in the morning, I was convinced that the larger meal was for me! I managed to finish it in the end (which was a feet in and off itself) but I don't think I could e...

Vivid Cafe - North Harrow

Image
Vivid Cafe - North Harrow  Affectionately nicknamed North Harrow Deli, this cafe provides some options for a comforting breakfast/ lunch. I typically order the omelette with tomato, onion, spinach, and feta. This also comes with a side of brown/ white bread and salad/ beans. I definitely can't accuse them of being stingy as they give you two slices of bread (aka 4 triangles)! I asked for the buttered brown bread and beans alongside my omelette. The flavours of the omelette work well together and the punchiness of the feta contrasts nicely with the wilted spinach and cooked tomato in the omelette.  Though this is a meal I could easily make myself, the deli is a nice option for when I fancy an omelette but haven't got time to travel home. Overall, this is a filling, affordable lunch that I will probably re-order at some point!  Ratings Food - 5/6 Vibes - 5 Decor - NA

Northwood Piazza - Northwood

Image
Northwood Piazza - (in, you guessed it,) Northwood This independent pizza restaurant in Northwood is the definition of a hidden gem (at least it was hidden from me😅)! The atmosphere in the restaurant immediately set the mood and the food was the cherry on top! We started of with some breadsticks. This might have been the hunger talking, but they were some of the nicest breadsticks I have had! And to top it off, they were on the house! 🙌 We then ordered the Funghi Gratinati and Pane all' Aglio as starters.  First the Pane all' Aglio, a stunning cheesy garlic flatbread🧀. The garlic really shone through in this dish! It wasn't overly garlicy, but it definitely didn't lack any flavour. And the mozzarella only added to how amazing this starter was! The cheese pull alone makes this dish a 10/10!  The Funghi Gratinati came next. This dish consisted of mushrooms in tomato sauce covered with browned mozzarella. It was a cheesy delight🌞. I wouldn't say this dish blew me ...

IKEA - Wembley

Image
IKEA - Wembley  Am I really doing a food review for a meal at IKEA? Yes, I am!! I'm trying to keep up with actually writing reviews so i figured I might as well do one for IKEA. I got my new 'usual'... The veggie balls with mashed potatoes, gravy and a dash of lingonberry jam. I find that the veggie balls are deliciously savoury and are bursting with flavour! The gravy takes the meal to a new level though! Something about gravy is elite and you don't need to understand why, but adding gravy just makes every meal better! I always get the mashed potatoes over the chips as I find the creamy texture provides a nice contrast to that of the meatballs. Overall, I'd say that this is the definition of a cheap and cheerful meal. It's not outstanding but it's definitely a nice lunch/ dinner! Ratings Vibes - NA Food - 6 Decor - NA

Nandos - Harrow

Image
Nandos - Harrow Okay, I'll admit that this definitely isn't even close to the first time I've been to Nandos... BUT, it is the first time I've had the chickpea burger 🍔 so I feel like a review is acceptable.  I've been recommended this burger a number of times but I've always avoided getting it because I thought it was significantly smaller than the beanie burger I usually get. After finally getting it today, I can confirm this isn't the case! ( I don't have a picture as proof because why would a food blogger take pictures of their food 🥲😶‍🌫️) The spiced chickpea burger came with a chickpea patty, lettuce, tomatoes, red pepper hummus and pickled onions. The balance of flavours really worked and the spice of the patty mixed with the sweetness of the onions complimented one another nicely. As always the lemon and herb sauce and peri peri chips were banging too! 🤤 Overall, this short and sweet review is mainly here to serve as a reminder to me to ac...
