This independent pizza restaurant in Northwood is the definition of a hidden gem (at least it was hidden from me😅)! The atmosphere in the restaurant immediately set the mood and the food was the cherry on top!

We started of with some breadsticks. This might have been the hunger talking, but they were some of the nicest breadsticks I have had! And to top it off, they were on the house! 🙌

We then ordered the Funghi Gratinati and Pane all' Aglio as starters. 

First the Pane all' Aglio, a stunning cheesy garlic flatbread🧀. The garlic really shone through in this dish! It wasn't overly garlicy, but it definitely didn't lack any flavour. And the mozzarella only added to how amazing this starter was! The cheese pull alone makes this dish a 10/10! 

The Funghi Gratinati came next. This dish consisted of mushrooms in tomato sauce covered with browned mozzarella. It was a cheesy delight🌞. I wouldn't say this dish blew me out of the water, but the sauce was well-seasoned and the cheese was perfectly melted. These starters prove that Northwood Piazza does not skimp on the cheese by any means 🧀!

For their mains, my parents ordered the vegetariana pizza and my brother ordered the margherita pizza. They commented that the dough used in the pizzas was perfect👌and emphasised how nice the pizzas truly were! The vegetariana pizza was what my dad ordered the first time he came and it's what drew him back to this restaurant again.

For my main, I chose the penne siciliana, a smaller penne pasta with aubergines, tomato sauce, melted mozzarella, and a (generous) drizzle of green pesto. This pasta was stunning! I know I have a slight tendency to exaggerate on this blog, but this was genuinely one of the nicest pastas I've ever had! It's incredibly unhelpful but I have no idea how to describe this pasta, but I can only assure you that you won't regret ordering it! Gorgeous!😋

Overall, I'd highly recommend trying this restaurant! The food was no less than perfect, the staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was great! Truly worth a go!

Megan's - Old Town Hall (Richmond) This is very clearly our first post because we forgot to take any pictures of our mains and didn't include the actual food in our BeReal 😶. However, with that being said, this is one of the best meals I have had in my life (I promise I'm not exaggerating)! We got their £16 two-course dinner menu and ordered a Turkish cheese fondue to share, spicy chicken thighs, and an open kebab with plant-based lamb. The cheese fondue starter was to die for. It was incredibly moreish and luxurious, so naturally, we didn't leave a lick in the plate. The creamy cheese was paired with the prefect amount of toasted, seeded sourdough to share between the two of us.  E Pellici - Bethnal Green This eastend cafe is a staple for many. It's been frequented by British celebrities, the Kray twins, and now me. And I think I can understand why so many people love to eat there!  My fiance has been there a few times already and has even bought some merch (!), so it's fair to say that he already LOVES the cafe. He recommended the pastas to me, but as I had heard Pellici's breakfast was voted the best in London, I was adamant on ordering the "Have the Lot Veggie".
