Megan's - Old Town Hall (Richmond)

Megan's - Old Town Hall (Richmond)

This is very clearly our first post because we forgot to take any pictures of our mains and didn't include the actual food in our BeReal ๐Ÿ˜ถ. However, with that being said, this is one of the best meals I have had in my life (I promise I'm not exaggerating)!

We got their £16 two-course dinner menu and ordered a Turkish cheese fondue to share, spicy chicken thighs, and an open kebab with plant-based lamb. The cheese fondue starter was to die for. It was incredibly moreish and luxurious, so naturally, we didn't leave a lick in the plate. The creamy cheese was paired with the prefect amount of toasted, seeded sourdough to share between the two of us. If anyone is considering going to Megan's I'd highly recommend getting the cheese fondue as a starter to share or as a main if you're alone and aren't too hungry.

The spicy chicken thighs dish was accompanied with a salad of mixed leaves, avocado and radishes, and chips. (I know chicken thighs aren't exactly the most vegetarian of dishes, but I figured they were worthy of a review too๐Ÿ’ฌ). The thighs themselves were well-seasoned and had a comfortable kick of chili, however, they were fairly small in size. The bulk of this meal consisted of the side chips, which were reminiscent of branded oven fries, and the side salad. Though the chicken was lovely, if you are particularly hungry, the famous open kebabs are the menu item to choose.

The open kebab with plant-based lamb came with a large flatbread, Piri Piri hummus, a small salad of lettuce and red cabbage, a dash of garlic yogurt, and a side dish of mint sauce. This dish was a gorgeous combination of flavours and I found that squeezing a lemon wedge over the food brought out the depth of these flavours even further. When I go back to Megan's I will definitely consider ordering this dish again as I found every bite more delicious than the last๐Ÿ™Œ. My only slight with this dish is that it didn't come with much salad, however the staff do mention that you can order a small salad on the side to fix this issue!

Overall, the decor, vibes, and food in Megan was incredible and it made for a great valentine's meal out. We didn't feel rushed in the slightest and we were given our food fairly soon after ordering. I would definitely recommend Megan's to anyone looking for an up-market but budget friendly meal-out with their friends or partner!
