The Railway Tavern - Richmond

Image
The Railway Tavern - Richmond We went to this Pub last Sunday because they were nearby and showing the league cup final... and boy am I glad we did! Like the great bloggers we are, we were too focused on the screen and completely forgot to take any pictures of our food 😶‍🌫️. Although that just gives us an excuse to go back again, so I can't complain too much! For this blog, I'm only going to focus on my food which was a vegetarian sausage and mash. This pub staple was gorgeous! It came swimming in an onion gravy and was topped with crispy onions too 😋. (If you aren't too keen on onions I'd definitely avoid it as it wasn't exactly a subtle oniony flavour). There's not much to say about this dish other than it tasted absolutely divine and was definitely the comfort food I needed over the weekend! Though it was a tad on the pricey side at £13, I would definitely order it again if I were to go back to the Railway Tavern for another sports match. I also got a gla...

Halo Bar - Hilton Islington (Afternoon Tea)

Image
Halo Bar - Hilton Islington (Afternoon Tea) A selection of sandwiches, a fruit scone, and a view, what more could you ask for?! For the purposes of this review I will be focusing on the vegetarian afternoon tea dishes, but should you wish for a more in depth review of the regular sandwiches do check out our 'Meals and BeReals' blog.  Halo Bar stuck to its green colour scheme in the seating and decor throughout the restaurant which definitely helped to create a nice vibe. I wouldn't call it a cosy or intimate restaurant as the open plan structure and large glass windows enable you to feel close to the hustle and bustle of the city outside, though once in a while this can be a nice experience. Moving onto the most important part of the review... the food! I will have to make some educated guesses regarding the contents of the sandwiches as we weren't given any menus, but I do have to admit, whatever they were, they were absolutely delicious! We started off with a pesto a...

Grilandia - East Sheen

Image
Grilandia - East Sheen I seem to be making up for my Mediterranean food drought by going to two Mediterranean restaurants in the span of three days! Although I can't complain too much, the food was amazing in both restaurants🙌! Like Megan's, the decorations in Grilandia made the atmosphere of the restaurant feel nice and welcoming. The warm lamps above and the greenery strung across the walls made us feel cosy and comfortable in the restaurant. Not only did the restaurant look beautiful, it also made delicious Lebanese food😋! We went at lunch time and ordered their deep treat falafel special which, in hindsight, could definitely have been shared! For £12.95 the dish came with two pieces of their fluffy sesame bread, lemony hummus, lots of batata harra, and three large falafels. I food the food to be well-seasoned and though it was a tad bit on the lemony side, I can't complain because I absolutely adore the splash of acidity and freshness lemon adds to hearty dishes. The ...

Megan's - Old Town Hall (Richmond)

Image
Megan's - Old Town Hall (Richmond) This is very clearly our first post because we forgot to take any pictures of our mains and didn't include the actual food in our BeReal 😶. However, with that being said, this is one of the best meals I have had in my life (I promise I'm not exaggerating)! We got their £16 two-course dinner menu and ordered a Turkish cheese fondue to share, spicy chicken thighs, and an open kebab with plant-based lamb. The cheese fondue starter was to die for. It was incredibly moreish and luxurious, so naturally, we didn't leave a lick in the plate. The creamy cheese was paired with the prefect amount of toasted, seeded sourdough to share between the two of us. If anyone is considering going to Megan's I'd highly recommend getting the cheese fondue as a starter to share or as a main if you're alone and aren't too hungry. The spicy chicken thighs dish was accompanied with a salad of mixed leaves, avocado and radishes, and chips. (I kno...
